{"id":1465,"date":"2011-09-06T19:30:35","date_gmt":"2012-01-19T20:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.protac.ca\/"},"modified":"2015-03-19T18:50:09","modified_gmt":"2015-03-19T18:50:09","slug":"heat-shields","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.protac.ca\/en\/products\/heat-shields\/","title":{"rendered":"Heat protectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>High-temperature fibres<\/h2>\n<p>The fibres used in our high-temperature fibre products vary depending on the type of application and the temperature of the intended environment.<\/p>\n<p>Available in different shapes according to the intended use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tapes<\/li>\n<li>Ropes<\/li>\n<li>Braided sleeves<\/li>\n<li>Fabric<\/li>\n<li>Needle felt<\/li>\n<li>Needle-punched felt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Needle felt mats can be laminated with aluminum foil.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<strong>E-glass fibre<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuous temperature resistance up to 550\u02daC (1020\u02daF)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent acoustic insulation<\/li>\n<li>Excellent thermal insulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Used as insulation in various household appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and dryers.<\/p>\n<p>E-glass is also used as a filler in mufflers and as thermal insulation panels.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Silicon fibre<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuous temperature resistance to over 1000\u02daC (1830\u02daF)<\/li>\n<li>Excellent thermal insulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Silicon fibre is used as insulation in exhaust systems, as a filler in mufflers, and as thermal insulation panels.<\/p>\n<h2>Aluminum, heat-reflective insulation sheets<\/h2>\n<h3>Self-adhesive aluminum sheet<\/h3>\n<p>Used as an insulator and reflector against radiant heat, this product easily conforms to irregular surfaces. Economical product available in 2\u00a0mil and 3\u00a0mil thicknesses.<\/p>\n<p>Service temperatures range from -40\u02daF to 300\u02daF (-40\u02daC to 149\u02daC)<\/p>\n<h3>Self-adhesive aluminum reinforced with woven fibreglass<\/h3>\n<p>The blend of aluminum and woven fibreglass make this a product of choice for applications in high-temperature environments, in restricted spaces and\/or on irregular surfaces.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The exposed aluminum acts as an excellent reflector against radiant heat<\/li>\n<li>The woven fibreglass offers thermal protection up to 550\u02daF (287\u02daC)<\/li>\n<li>Service temperatures range from -40\u02daF to 1020\u02daF (-40\u02daC to 550\u02daC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Blend of aluminum and fibreglass felt or polyester needle felt<\/h2>\n<p>This blend is an attractive alternative to traditional metalized heat protectors.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Particularly effective in reducing the temperature of components when the heat source is very hot<\/li>\n<li>Effective soundproof solution without the noisy nature of traditional metal protectors<\/li>\n<li>Excellent tear resistance<\/li>\n<li>Low moisture absorption<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Available with high\u2011performance adhesive, depending on the application surface. Available in 3 mm and 6 mm thicknesses.<\/p>\n<h2>Ceramic fibre paper<\/h2>\n<p>Ceramic fibre paper is an economical, high-performance replacement for asbestos paper. It is recommended in continuous-use temperatures up to 1260\u02daC (2300\u02daF).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lightweight<\/li>\n<li>Resilient, conforms well to different shapes<\/li>\n<li>Low thermal conductivity<\/li>\n<li>Good dielectric strength<\/li>\n<li>Good flame resistance<\/li>\n<li>Resistant to thermal shock<\/li>\n<li>Uniform composition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other high-temperature protection products<\/h2>\n<p>We offer a variety of other high-temperature protection products to suit your needs.
