Heat protectors

Our high-temperature products are ideal for applications ranging from 400˚F to 2300˚F (200˚C-1260˚C). Depending on their specific characteristics, products come in sheets, rolls, and die-cut parts (with or without adhesive). Contact your technical advisor for an assessment of the most appropriate product for your application.

High-temperature fibres

The fibres used in our high-temperature fibre products vary depending on the type of application and the temperature of the intended environment.

Available in different shapes according to the intended use:

  • Tapes
  • Ropes
  • Braided sleeves
  • Fabric
  • Needle felt
  • Needle-punched felt

Needle felt mats can be laminated with aluminum foil.

 E-glass fibre

  • Continuous temperature resistance up to 550˚C (1020˚F)
  • Excellent acoustic insulation
  • Excellent thermal insulation

Used as insulation in various household appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers and dryers.

E-glass is also used as a filler in mufflers and as thermal insulation panels.

Silicon fibre

  • Continuous temperature resistance to over 1000˚C (1830˚F)
  • Excellent thermal insulation

Silicon fibre is used as insulation in exhaust systems, as a filler in mufflers, and as thermal insulation panels.

Aluminum, heat-reflective insulation sheets

Self-adhesive aluminum sheet

Used as an insulator and reflector against radiant heat, this product easily conforms to irregular surfaces. Economical product available in 2 mil and 3 mil thicknesses.

Service temperatures range from -40˚F to 300˚F (-40˚C to 149˚C)

Self-adhesive aluminum reinforced with woven fibreglass

The blend of aluminum and woven fibreglass make this a product of choice for applications in high-temperature environments, in restricted spaces and/or on irregular surfaces.

  • The exposed aluminum acts as an excellent reflector against radiant heat
  • The woven fibreglass offers thermal protection up to 550˚F (287˚C)
  • Service temperatures range from -40˚F to 1020˚F (-40˚C to 550˚C)

Blend of aluminum and fibreglass felt or polyester needle felt

This blend is an attractive alternative to traditional metalized heat protectors.

  • Particularly effective in reducing the temperature of components when the heat source is very hot
  • Effective soundproof solution without the noisy nature of traditional metal protectors
  • Excellent tear resistance
  • Low moisture absorption

Available with high‑performance adhesive, depending on the application surface. Available in 3 mm and 6 mm thicknesses.

Ceramic fibre paper

Ceramic fibre paper is an economical, high-performance replacement for asbestos paper. It is recommended in continuous-use temperatures up to 1260˚C (2300˚F).

  • Lightweight
  • Resilient, conforms well to different shapes
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Good dielectric strength
  • Good flame resistance
  • Resistant to thermal shock
  • Uniform composition
